Fan history and models

A fan is a mechanical fan that is used for cooling in many houses and buildings.

The fan has slanted blades that rotate to move and cool the air, although there is a newer and similar product called a bladeless fan that does not have blades.

Household fans are made in four models: desktop, standing, ceiling or wall. One of the uses of the fan is in environments where it is not possible to use a water cooler due to the high humidity.

The root of the word

The root of the word fan comes from the Sanskrit language and means the wing of a bird. The first fans were flat plates hanging from the ceiling, which were manually moved by a strap to move the air.

History

Panka fan was used in India around 500 BC. It was a hand fan made of strips of bamboo or other plant fibers that could be turned or fanned to move the air. During the British rule, the word was used by Anglo-Indians to mean a large swinging flat fan, fixed to the ceiling and drawn by a servant called pankavale.

For air conditioning purposes, the Han Dynasty craftsman and engineer Ding Huan invented a seven-wheel hand-rotating fan that was 3 meters (10 feet) in diameter. In the 8th century, during the Tang Dynasty (618–907), the Chinese used hydraulic power to turn fan wheels for air conditioning, while the rotary fan became even more common during the Song Dynasty (1279–960).

In the 17th century, experiments by scientists including Otto von Goericke, Robert Hooke, and Robert Boyle established the fundamental principles of vacuum and air flow. The English architect used the early ventilation system in the Houses of Parliament, which used blowers to circulate the air. Ren’s design can be a catalyst for further progress and innovation. As shown by Georg Agricola (1455–1555), it was the first rotary fan used in Europe to ventilate mines.

John Theosophist Desalinizes, an English engineer, demonstrated the successful use of a fan system to remove stagnant air from coal mines in 1727, and soon after installed a similar device in Parliament. Proper ventilation was especially important in coal mines to reduce losses from suffocation. Civil engineer John Smeaton and later John Bodell installed reciprocating air pumps in mines in northern England. However, this arrangement was not ideal as the machinery could break down.

Table fans are made in two models, short base and long base. In Iran, the number of factories producing table fans is few.

How to install the table fan propeller grid

The net is tied to the body where the engine is located. After closing the net, the special half-gasket behind the cooling fan is tied to the engine shaft. After the special washer of the cooling fan is put in place and the screw on the cooling fan is closed and the other half of the network is closed to the fixed half of the closed network.

It should be noted that the protective screw of the propeller or the retaining screw that is on the cooling propeller, unlike the screws available in the market, is generally the left side of the screw, which should be paid attention to in order to open the fan for cleaning or repairs.

It is necessary to explain that the desktop fan motor has three fast, medium, and low speeds, which can be operated by a keyboard with four buttons. Of these, four buttons are for disconnection and three buttons for different rounds. The keys control the speed of the engine using a speed reducer wiring mechanism.

The motor of these types of fans is also a single-phase capacitor type. A chandelier may be installed under this fan. Most of the ceiling fans in the market are of the three-blade type, but there are also fans with more blades. These fans have two main coils and a starter (auxiliary). To control the speed of the coil A multi-ended inductor connected in series with a single-phase capacitor motor is used. This winding is removed from the circuit at the highest speed and the motor will work with rated voltage, but at lower speeds, part of this winding is placed in the circuit. The control of this fan is usually done through a rotary switch that is installed on the wall.
